Jussatruth It's Jussatruth, alright, it's Jussatruth, yeah It's Jussatruth, alright, it's Jussatruth, truth Been an MC ever since I laughed on the mic After the lights were turned off in my room I blasted in flight Daydreaming in the dark I stared at the ceiling fan shadow Adrenaline settled in my soul made my skeleton rattle My whole being is tucked between these black and white keys It might be why I get these fat ass beats to like me Alright then, let me make it clear, I won't repeat it As long as I'm inspired, my music will remain therapeutic Keeps me motivated, orchestrates my healing So stop getting in the way of what I'm feeling, yeah Reelin up the memories and give thanks for the future My blood boiling with sample chops, vibes that'll suit ya The roots deep and I move with caution and respect Select the right energy when I launch into a new spectrum Electromagnetic, I'm the man of this blue planet Here's some stamina for your camera, lights and action, damn it! (click) You can feel room vibrate, I break the tide passed the tie-break So say good night when the fight breaks My time is running out, so best to step amigo The real battle remains with my own ego's ego Regardless, my truth lies between these lines I right There is no strategy, I was born to kick it alright It's just the truth, alright, it's just the truth, yeah It's just the truth, alright, it's just the truth, truth

P.O.N. I remember my first show, mid 90's, maybe 13 On the mic like i had something to say, first 16 Artifacts instrumental, rehearsed for weeks Had to rep for the whole crew and a couple streets Stolen land of the Cree and other first nations Many unfair decreets, even more violation Prejudice's in your face at the 100th meridian Spaghetti western opinions about the «Indians» Metis speaking French, Michif and other tongues Plus immigration got my generation living amongst So many cultures and customs I recall the different faces when I got my first stamp at the customs Found warmth a country as cold as ice We repped the Ethnic Alliance with lyrical defiance We’re from the whole world High school kids with texts to go Jamaica, India, Philippines, France and Mexico Who's next flow, that was the way we spent our lunch breaks And week-ends we looping them samples and drum breaks Akai s01, one month rental No internet, real crate digging for ya mental Now...we were up on everything, Staying up all night right obsessively looking for...new ways to meddle with These tapes and records spread across the floor Hoping one day success would would let us through the door we stayed «Positive over negative» El tiempo pasa, en mis ojos veras lo que la vida me dio «Positive over negative» Y le doy gracias a la música, me viste cuando nadie me vio «Positive over negative» Son las memorias que tengo yo, que tengo yo «Positive over negative» Son las memorias que tengo yo, que tengo yo At Fourteen, me and my man Cro had a radio show Biking to the station with a suitcase full of tapes yo Face to face promotion, based on the way u looked On the bus, "yo you into hip-hop?'' is all it took Exchange phone number and exchange ideas My sense of community in hip hop lies here We used to have whole crews roll in 40s and blunts in the parking lot, every time a couple cd's stolen 10 MC's, one DJ + a sneaky promoter How could i keep control, all these cats were much older But the freestyles were golden and as time was unfolding These are the memories that I'm forever holding Me and Hue-b listening to Nas's first single Calabash records, where the vinyls made our spines tingle My brother Fidzo spent his summers in Harlem Working night shifts in Manhattan bagel shops far from stardom By september he packed 20 mixtapes in his backpack We were dreamin NYC it's fact that You know the deal cause you from that era too Writing rhymes like we're from new york when they thought we were hunting caribou From the US, the view is so often distorted Yet hip hop livin' / really livin' passed the the Northern border Canadian to me meant being from anywhere I only knew moving around, had to fit in somewhere «Positive over negative» El tiempo pasa, en mis ojos veras lo que la vida me dio «Positive over negative» Y le doy gracias a la música, me viste cuando nadie me vio «Positive over negative» Son las memorias que tengo yo, que tengo yo «Positive over negative» Son las memorias que tengo yo, que tengo yo Arrived in a jam packed van, brand new page Vox and I, Montreal chapter, coming of age First days, stayed with his cousins in RDP East-End, Give thanks for Haitian Hospitality Criss-Crossed the city, saw the pretty and the gritty Lost in the masses downtown my soul felt itty-bitty My moms joined me, hopin of a new start A boost of love, a lot sadness filled her bruised heart Now an Atlantic ocean away me from my pops Long distance role model, but the phone calls never stopped Through muddy waters, i was trying to find my path It hurt to see the pain but I needed some room fast I moved out again and found a booth to begin Recording the thoughts that I wrote down To loosen and vent Family is family happily things are different today Through all of that, the love I got is what made me stay On a positive mission, with no inhibition Understanding that only I can be at the height of my ambitions No more excuses that only induces Negative thoughts and behavior that's destructive and abusive Stuck to the rhythm, studied language and translation Complex is the dynamic of a bilingual nation Beatmaking in my room, slowly building my titles Talent shows, open mics, opening for my idols Nothin I could have done without my people in the mix Nomadics Massive straight to the hoop, never shoot bricks How many crews can stay united for over 10 years? Through good and bad times, to all of you, I must say cheers Shout outs to the fam on every mic I blessed, 1, 2 And that goes for Sayen, Narcy, Static and Hest One too From local hip hop to global hip hop We dream up opportunities that had us building, sharing a lot Slowly became what we envisioned on that hot day When we politicked on a street corner, sippin' ice latte Clearing the way now, illuminating the path The future is the conjugation of present and the past, stay «Positive over negarive» «I maintain» «We’re gonna keep it live all night yall» «I was told by my peeps play your cards right, spit hard, never look back» «Positive over negarive» «I maintain» «We’re gonna keep it live all night yall» «you know!» Son las memorias que tengo yo, que tengo yo

Writer’s Block Party I'm staring at a blank page Wanted to write a verse but my mind's in a damn cage Trying to survive a rampage, I can't shake it I wanted to put the words, the syllables together Just wondering if the planet I live on will ever pull together Been asking myself why I'm masking myself Maybe a virus called ignorance is still harassing my health I tried to put the pen to the paper But the ink won't flow, the blood spill is still greater Same actors, same narrator I tried to zone out and get down to the rhyme writing But got distracted when I saw the upper level crime rising I'm talking about suits rounding up troops in military boots Crew cuts, suit up democracy's abuse Info wars got you all confused Don't expect me to trust fake news about fake news The crowds diffuse, watch your social distance when you spit your truth Now let me get to this verse so I can hit the booth «Caneta direta, no bloco de notas» «I’m writing to show you what I’m fighting for» «sometimes I might catch a sever case of writer’s block» «writing for freedom, fighting for freedom» Writer's Block Party, reserva meu camarote Uns tão tomando coragem, outros tão tomando corote Tomo vergonha na cara (sem gelo), Boto a cara no mic Sessão de descarrego, drenando a carga da bic Rec naquele pique, O black e a barba gigante Tipo eremita mesmo, sem click do meu semblante Lá fora desacreditam e o inimigo de tocaia Invisível, Quem não tá no meu nível quer que eu caia Não tô falando de flow, deixo que meu flow diga As cigarras na carreata querendo explorar as formigas Aí que cê vê quem é que faz a grana girar Se essa canoa virar (hmmm) saber nadar, bacana? O mundo tá tão doente e o remédio não tá em análise A cura nos corações, não no veneno do cálice O dólar e o sangue sobem, no beco descem o sarrafo Quando eu consigo, escrevo, quando não, psicógrafo «Caneta direta, no bloco de notas» «I’m writing to show you what I’m fighting for» «Sometimes I might catch a sever case of writer’s block» «Writing for freedom, fighting for freedom» Chak fwa m'gon ide m' pa ka jwen krayon Mande'm ki kote li pati, jodi Im' kind of lazy procrastinating maybe, I’m at a lost with words, verbs and pronouns feeling ca m'pa ka nomenn, ki jen m'fe tombe bliye on lot papye map dechiré, gen le cervo fo'l recycler e si son reve fo'm reveye, m'bezoin on moun pou vim pince'm, zin zin fo'm jwen on flow po'm ka fini verse sa, mchita la problem sa the pressure is on, Lou did his with ease 16 bars, no pause and 15 minutes later well I’m a line closer or at least its what I thought and now I’m starting over ...daaaamn! my mind is like the traffic at 6, and I’m running out of tricks and I’m looking for a fix' I don’t get high on likes Turn off my phone I might, since my mind is on strike I might go out for a hike, peace! «The questions are really almost unanswerable Or when you try to answer them, you find yourself involved in another question That’s part of the trouble of being a writer it’s part of the trouble of being a human being That’s part of the trouble of being a society Because society believes in answers and doesn’t like questions» «Caneta direta, no bloco de notas» «I’m writing to show you what I’m fighting for» «Sometimes I might catch a sever case of writer’s block»

Ahi Na Ma 02:53
Ahi Nama Grab this moment, suspend it in time Don't rush it, take it slow and let it shine You the solar panel, Polaroid stamp Vibrating through your solar plexus Validate the vibe that we maintain Calculate the time when we switch lanes Click, sunrises never in vain Deviating from the roads that afflict pain The mornings, the smiles, the fruits The baby, the strength, the roots The view when the light's diffused We don't have to end it so soon Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo) Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo) Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo) Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo) Grab an instant, suspend it in time Let me hold that for a moment, let it shine A dreamer, architect of my vision Cook with life's spices in my kitchen Catch a Kodak click with a film grain Immortalize the picture with a slick game We moving with the light that we fixate Explode the frame of the mindset that they dictate The mornings, the smiles, the fruits The baby, the strength, the roots The view when the light's diffused We don't have to end it so soon Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo) Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo) Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo) Ahi na'ma (uh, aqui me quedo yo)

about

Brazil based Hip Hop artist Lou Piensa will start the new year with a brand New EP entitled The World Is Me. A short and diverse art piece showcasing Lou’s international input and outlook on Hip Hop culture. Delivered in no less than five languages, the music slaloms seamlessly through classic scratch filled boom-bap flows, neo-soul bossa voicings and psychedelic experimental
phrasings.
Lou’s lyrical gymnastics are displayed on the intro track Jussatruth where he reminds us of why he is a tireless veteran MC. On Writer’s Block
Party, alongside renowned Brazilian MC Kamau and his Nomadic Massive bandmate Waahli, he shares his struggle with inspiration in the context of the strange time we are living in. P.O.N. tells the story of his time spent in Canada and his discovery of Hip Hop culture as a common ground and unique space to express his unique global experience. French laced Rose des Vents slows and smooths things down with the soothing vocals of Rio de Janeiro’s Luciane Dom as Lou explores the feeling of love and appreciation. Finally Ahi Nama breaks off into a new galaxy with abstract yet driving textures that support Lou’s unexpected melodic delivery and cinematographic lyrics about the
importance of being in the moment.
On top of Lou’s own beat concoctions, the EP includes additional production by Brazilians beatmakers Kamau and DJ RM as well as scratches from Dj Dablyo and versatile instrumentation and co-production from Sao-Paulo multi-
instrumentalist Thiago Duar.
